Most of the time outside where you will clean your car there is mud and leaves on the ground and you therefore may not want to use your house hose outside. This hose normally comes in bright orange for clear visibilty and only comes in 9m lengths.
It will activate the Beam appliance as soon as it is inserted fully into a suitable wall or floor-mounted inlet or indeed the Beam appliance itself if located in the garage or near to where you are cleaning your car.
If you put it directly into the appliance itself (if it has a built-in inlet) you will need to press the power switch from 'auto' to manual.
